Ritz-Carlton comes to Dove Mountain in Marana

MARANA – After months of rumors and maybes, David Mehl, president of Cottonwood Properties has joined with Greenbrier Southwest Corporation and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company to create the largest and most comprehensive Ritz-Carlton branded project to date. Best of all, it's happening right here in Marana at the top of Dove Mountain Boulevard. And construction is already underway.
This half-billion dollar development here in Marana's Dove Mountain will include a 250-room Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Spa, The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club featuring Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, and a Ritz-Carlton branded luxury residential community. Encompassing some 850 acres within the Dove Mountain master-planned community, this project will offer visitors to Marana the ultimate in luxury vacationing as well as luxury living in the high Sonoran Desert.
Owner and master developer of the 6,200-acre Dove Mountain community, Mehl acquired the land that is now Dove Mountain in 1985. Now, nearly two decades of planning and commitment have made Dove Mountain on the southwest's most exclusive communities and a nationally recognized golf destination that offers a total of five exceptional golf courses.
"Our commitment is to finding brighter, more thoughtful ways to accommodate metropolitan Tucson's growth and create the highest standard for quality of life in the area," says Mehl. "The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain project will bring a unique offering to the area and international attention to the State of Arizona, the town of Marana and Dove Mountain". "From the very beginning it was our intention to anchor Dove Mountain on the premise that it would house some very special resort facility, we have now met that ideal," Mehl said.
Ed Honea, Marana mayor, couldn't agree more.
"The much-anticipated addition of the Ritz-Carlton Resort, Golf Club and Residences at Dove Mountain (http://www.theresidencesatdovemountain.com/index.php) is just another positive step we're taking in the overall growth of Marana," Honea said. "The next two years are going to be very exciting. Things are really starting to fall into place here."
